Meaning of "Discount in %+ Discount in %".

Sometimes we see discount rate quoted on price tag or banner or on some other media.
Most people may confuse that what does it actually mean.

Let us take an example to understand it.
What does discount 50%+50% mean? Many people may say that it means 100% of discount, but it's incorrect to say it as 100% discount.
The correct answer is 75%.

How is it?
50%+50%
First "50%" of "50%+50%" means 50% of 100%. Therefore discount as per first part is 50%.

Now second part of "50%+50%" means "50%" of "100% - 50% (first part).
Now, 50% of (50% of 100%)
= 50% of 50%
= 25%

Therefore total discount is 50%+25% = 75%
