Points to be considered while doing jobs on Upwork/ODesk |
In current scenario online earning methods are rising thus employers and employees can get their job done and do the job respectively irrespective of the geographical boundary. Employers can search for the well-qualified employees to get their job done and employee (online workers) can work for different country staying wherever they want.
There are many portals/websites/blogs where online jobs are done. At these portals, you can apply for different jobs/tasks which suits you and if the employer (job poster) selects you, you can do the task/jobs and if you do the task/job as per the requirements of the employer, you will be paid as agreed.
What if you didn't get paid for the task/jobs you completed?
→ if you are not paid then you will have negative thinking about online jobs and you won't trust truly and you have just wasted your time because you didn't get paid.
Among others UpWork (formerly oDesk) is also an online jobs platform. You can earn the decent amount of money by doing jobs in different fields which suits you. But while choosing jobs you have to take precautions so that you might be saved from not getting paid for the work/task you completed on UpWork (formerly oDesk).
Points to consider before applying (submitting the proposal) for jobs on UpWork (formerly oDesk).
Check whether the payment method is verified or not by the employer: - This will normally assure you that client is willing to get their job done and pay you. Though it cannot be said that they will not pay you if the payment method is not verified.
The reputation of the employer: - Reputation of the employer means client's past details like how much amount did s/he paid/spent and how many jobs s/he posted and paid. And also read reviews and rating given by workers on their profile.
Escrow: - Escrow means amount kept on hold by UpWork itself for the security of both job poster and job doer. Those jobs which are of fixed price have proceeded with Escrow. It's better to do the job which is of fixed price or to be paid on hour basis.
Acceptance of jobs: - It's very important that you should make yourself sure that you accept only those jobs which are not fake.
Generally, user shouldn't accept these types of jobs:-
- Jobs which isn't on fixed rate or hourly rate basis.
- Clients who ask you to submit work done/completed through emails, Skype etc. or by any other mode other than submission thorough UpWork.
- Don't start working without acceptance of work through UpWork official acceptance process.
If you don't take precautions and start working blindly as per the client, then there are lots of chances that you won't get paid.
Wish you all "HAPPY ONLINE EARNING"
