Introduction
- formed in 1987 AD (i.e. 2044 B.S.) in Kathmandu
- Formed considering the need for strong platform to safeguard and promote the rights and interests of Gold and Silver dealers community
- the apex body of Jewelers community of the country with 32 district level branches
- is the representative organization of Nepalese Jewelers
- It is a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit making, autonomous and service-oriented organization
- made the significant role that helps strengthen the economic development of the nation
Objectives
- Safeguard and promote the interests, rights, and privileges of its members and Jewellery community.
- Strengthen national economy through the local, national and International gem and jewellery trade.
- Enhance the capability of its member Jewellers through providing training, seminars, workshops, interactions, jewellery exhibitions, and observation tours.
- Maintain standard (Applied) Gold and silver rate all over the country every day.
- Preserve and enhance the traditional Nepalese Jewellery identity and its skill. Also, expose it to the international arena.
- Maintain professional unity and co-operation among Nepalese Jewellers.
- Hallmarking of gold and silver Jewelleries for the benefit and safeguard of customers. Also, to protect consumer trust in Nepalese gold and silver jewelleries.
- Support to produce skilled manpower for jewellery industries and help promote local employment.
- Forward remarks and recommendation on the policy matters, acts and bylaws, plans and programs related to gems and jewelleries .
- Perform social and public - welfare activities.
Governing Body
- is the Executive Board elected by the General assembly for the tenure of 3 years
- Executive Board Comprised of President, Senior vice president, 5 vice presidents, Secretary general, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasure, Joint Treasure and 10 executive members
- The Executive Board also includes Immediate Past President and two nominated Executive members.
Committee
The Executive Board constitutes various committees and subcommittees to attain its aims and objectives. The present committees and subcommittees are: Management committee

Secretariat
- consist of 3 fulltime and 2 parttime employees
- NEGOSIDA is heading forward making the secretariat efficient and modernize
- The secretariat is being run under the guidance and supervision of the secretary general reporting to President.
