Definitions of the terms used in the "Cooperative Act, 2048 (1992)"

• "association" or "society" means a cooperative association or society registered pursuant to Section 5.

• "member" means a person, association, society or other bodies who have

obtained membership by subscribing shares of an association or society in

accordance with the Bye-law of such association or society.

• "board" means the board of directors formed pursuant to the Bye-law of an

association or society.

• "Registrar" means the registrar appointed pursuant to Section 21.

• "general meeting" means the general meeting of the concerned association

or society

• "Bye-law" means the Bye-law of the concerned association or society

• "prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or as prescribed in the

Rules framed under this Act.
